We almost passed this great campground up because of the prior reviews, luckily a friendly permanent camper changed our minds. The owner greeted us warmly, had a pull through spot open for one night, led us to it, and delivered firewood to our site. We had to use a set of legos on one side to level, but no issues with that because the site is nicely gravelled.
The pool looks clean and new. The playground is a classic American playground that we all grew up with. You should bring what you need, but they do have firestarters and toilet paper if you run out. The bathrooms are simple and clean, and you put a quarter in to prevent the water from running all night, if someone were to forget to turn it off.
Finally, this camp ground is in the woods, in the mountains, in West Virginia. We have a 30' TT and know how to drive a truck on country roads. If you live like a rock star in a tour bus, or can't see over the steering wheel, this is not the spot for you. If you like frogs, crickets, wind in the trees, and a good campfire, you'll find this to be a great spot for a quick or extended stay.
