This KOA is a small piece of a larger recreational facility including a very large seasonal campground. The staff are reasonably friendly and the KOA portion of the facility is reasonably clean. Travelling campers, though, need to beware. The basic layout of the campground is normal, but somewhere along the line, the owners have gone through and crammed sites into every available bit of space.
Adjacent sites sit at an angle to one another--pull through and stop and your vehicle blocks access to the neighboring site. The sites are graveled but not graded, leveling your camper is a real problem.
Water to the "crammed in" sites comes through plastic tubing from a splitter downstream from the valve on an existing site--turn off that valve and you've stopped water to both sites.
Similarly, 30 amp service to the "crammed in" sites comes from a breaker box on an existing site to a plug on a post. The breaker box contains two unlabeled 30 amp breakers.
We backed into the "pull through" site, moving back and forth several time to get as level as possible and still reach all of our services.
We hooked up water and electric and had neither. My husband traced the water to the neighbor's spigot, explained, then waited while the neighbor completed his hookup so he could turn on the water. Then he traced the electric service to a different adjacent site--this one unoccupied.
KOA needs to look into this one. Very frustrating.
