How to Read Good Sam Directory Ratings

The three-number rating that accompanies each campground listing in the directory gives readers an at-a-glance assessment of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment.

How to read the Good Sam Rating 10/10 /10.
All three ratings categories are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best.Less than 1 percent of parks or campgrounds receive the coveted 10 / 10 / 10 rating, which indicates superior facilities that are well maintained, clean, well-appointed restrooms and a highly appealing appearance.Campgrounds are inspected annually by dedicated RVers like you.

We made our reservations about 9 months in advance and were told at that time we could not request a specific site but could choose our site upon arrival. When we arrived we were told that they had assigned us a site and we could not choose our own. The reason, a goodsam club from Idaho made reservations 6 months after us and was given priority over us. We were offered a chance to move into a 50 amp site but were told they really don't like to put 30 amp trailers in there so we stayed where they put us.

If this had been the only problem we would have just let things go but it was just the start. It seem that the middle loop they put us in has electical brown out problems that they knew about but choose not to tell us. With only 4 sites taken in this loop we had brown out problems all 4 days. The weather was in the 90's and with a pet we had no choice but to run the air. The goodsam group was put into a loop that had no electrical problems. Had they mentioned this issue we would have taken the 50 amp loop to begin with. The owners response was that it only happens once in awhile and acted as if it was no big deal. At the very least they should warn people when they come into that loop.

As far as the rest of the park, 1 rv site had grass the others are just dirt but okay. The only other grass was in the tent area. The location is great for exploring the area. We did not use the restrooms so can't comment on them. We did have a rattlesnake in our site one evening but it is rattlesnake country. The owners would drive their Gator at full speed from the office thru the campground to their house leaving a lot of dust behind them for us campers to deal with.
