Pontchartrain Landing is out in the yacht building ship yards on the canal access to the lake. The road to the campground is horrible!! That being said, the campground itself is pretty nice. We opted for one of the Presidential sites which has a thatched roof bungalow, a hot tub, grill, refrigerator, granite counter tops and a stereo sound system. Our site sat right on the edge of the canal access way and was well maintained. The staff there are very courteous and help in any way they can. We didn't use the campground restrooms or showers so I can't comment on those besides the fact they were a good little walk away from our site. The real convenience of this campground is the fact they are only about 15 minutes from Bourbon Street. We would stay here again.

A great place, on the water in New Orleans. A lovely pool, restaurant and bar. Shuttle service to The French Quarter and direct access to all area tours. Big sites, well maintained and a very nice store.

The way into the park is a little intimidating because of the parks location and the lack of any signage what-so-ever. Leaving the highway you are taken to the ship repair building area along the Mississippi River. The road to the park (France Rd) is bumpy, full of pot holes and once again provides no indication that you are in fact heading the right way to the park. A little signage would really be nice. The entry into the park brings you onto all gravel roadways. The park is maintained very well with nice landscaping. Pontchartrain Landing advertized various sites based on location and view. Our site was requested to be on the water with a view of the River. We had a requested a water view which was mid-priced. This was kind of what we received. What we actually received was a view of three Floating Vessels and if you turned your head out the door enough you saw the water. For the extra price, it’s not worth it. They do have a shuttle service. The negative with the shuttle is that it only picks up from one location downtown and only at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. which leaves you downtown for a long time walking around if that’s your choice of transportation. The other negative of the park was the complete lack of Wi-Fi. They advertise Wi-Fi but we were never able to log in unless we walked over to the office and sat outside. If you want a place to stay that is 15 minutes from Downtown and the French Quarter, this would be the place to stay but it’s a little pricy, the staff is not all that friendly and you will not get internet. If you want to use the shuttle, plan on being downtown all day. Pick up is rare.. I believe it's overated by Good Sam.

This is our third stay here. We come for Mardi Gras and love staying here. We are only 15 minutes from the action, but can get back and recharge between events. The staff is extremely helpful and vigilant, and they offer a lot of service. The restrooms are clean and pleasant and they have a nice store. We enjoy the restaurant and bar with live music. In past years, we have used the hot tub and the swimming pool. We'll see how warm it gets this year.

The sites are nicely landscaped and feel adequately private. We usually travel with friends and have always managed to get side by side. The only negative is that I have yet to get the wi-fi to work. Since we travel with our own cellular, its not a big issue, but decent wi-fi would be nice. We always have a nice time here and will continue to return.

Pontchartrain Landing is nice, clean campground on the water in NOLA. Very clean restrooms, convenience store, and nice restaurant with entertainment on the site. Very friendly staff, Shuttle to downtown New Orleans is great, but the last one returning to the campground is at 8pm ( 9 or 10 would be more accomodating) I agree with the reviewer about the road to the campground being horrible. Overall, we loved it and we would stay there again.

Park is in industrial setting of New Orleans. A little confusing at times getting in and out but overall nice place to stay. It was extremely hot so make sure your A/C's work if you are coming in the summer. Had nice shuttle to downtown available if you did not want to take a car, The only reason I gave this a 3 star appeal is location. Once inside the RV park I would rate it a solid 5.

I wasn't impressed. The biggest issue for me is that the entire campground is crushed rock. Much of the rock has turned to dust, so after a day or so, dust covers everything. I did not use any of the facilities. Most of the staff was friendly.
