About Me

Husband and I recently took an early retirement and have become fulltimers as of March 2009. Our 'home' is a 2009 Mobile Suites and our tow vehicle is a Ford F450. Our constant companions are our 2 Chi's. We hope to fullfill a life long dream of driving up thru Canada to Alaska in the Spring/Summer of 2009.

Alaska Travel
We are planning a trip to Alaska for 2009. We will leave from the Seattle area and go to Fairbanks and back. We would like to share planning information, ie. routes, parks, sites, etc. with others who have been or are planning to go.

Alaska 2009
We're planning on going to Alaska this summer and was looking to find others going this spring/summer. We're tentatively hitting Canada in late May and working our way thru Canada thru the great Alaskan highway this summer, returning in mid-September. Looking for others planning to go and making lot's of new friends!

Great No Frill RV Parks
We are interest in friendly, clean RV Parks with full hook-ups that allow pets. Not needing the gym, pool, game room, playing field, etc. Like to put a listing together for all that enjoy this type of traveling. We are wanting to see the natural beauty in our travels.

bob, we just brought our first rv. its a used 32' cougar by keystone with a rear living area w/ two slides, bedroom and sofa area. we looked at many different sizes. everyone says buy biger than you think you want. we wanted a 29' with one slide. now we are very glad we got a little bigger one. I have a 2007 chev silverado 2500 hd w/ 6 liter engine. gas miles is bad, but you could pull stumps out with it. the 5 wheel pulls easy and does not move around like a trailer. good luck bob r

I would very much like to know how you came to your decision on buying your 5th wheel and truck -vs- trailers, class c or class a's. My wife and I will both be retired in Dec 09 and plan on really getting into the camping world. Right now, we have a kodiak Trailer, 29 ft and really like it. Because of work commitments we have only been using it about once a month. We tow this with a 1/2 ton Toyota tundra and it does real well. But,,,,,here's where we need advice. I'm pretty sure we will want something bigger like a 5th wheel, class c, etc. I dont want to make the mistake we read about all the time about not getting the right combination of truck pulling trailer or 5th wheel. I'm a 100 % disabled vet and must be careful not overdoing anything but am able to do some labor. Money is always an issue but we can afford to upgrade to something bigger but will need to sell our car or truck to offset costs. If you have time, I would be glad to read your thoughts. Thanks....bob
