Event Description

Don’t miss the pageantry, excitement and thrills of one of the country’s most famous events--the “Run for the Roses.” Experience the most exciting two minutes in sports under the historic Twin Spires at the world’s most famous horse track, Churchill Downs. Take in the vivid hat parade and the colorful sea of jockey silks, try a traditional Mint Julep, check out the rich and famous on Millionaire’s Row and feel the chills as the bugle sounds “riders up.” It’s the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby, and the Good Sam Club has first-class accommodations lined up just for you as part of the 2008 Kentucky Derby Samboree.

You’ll be entertained in style by the Good Sam Club in the Marquee Village for both the Kentucky Oaks and Derby Days. Feast in the private Good Sam tent on a scrumptious buffet that includes mouth-watering appetizers, chef-carved meats, salads, entrees, desserts and unlimited juices, soft drinks, spirits, beer, wine and champagne. You’ll also enjoy closed-circuit television and access to private restrooms and the Marquee Village gift shop. Watch your favorite horses win from the comfort of the tent or at trackside from reserved clubhouse seats. Located in Section 110/111 on the first turn, your seats will offer a spectacular view of the races and the famed Twin Spires. What a way to experience this “Great American Horse Race!”

Transportation to the Oaks and Derby and five nights camping with water and electric hookups at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center are also included in your Samboree package as well as a visit via motorcoach to the Kentucky Horse Park, a one of a kind park located in the midst of the famous rolling bluegrass horse farm region. You’ll also have the opportunity to watch Kentucky Derby and Oaks contenders go through their morning training regimens at ”Dawn at the Downs” and enjoy a visit to the Kentucky Derby Museum, tour of the track, seats at the colorful Derby Festival Pegasus Parade, visit to the Louisville Slugger Museum, several meals, Derby souvenirs and numerous other Samboree features. It’s a winning way to see some of the best horse racing in the world.

It’s an incredible event, and with the Good Sam Club, you’re sure to experience it in style with many thrills and once-in-a-life-time memories. From the welcome dinner featuring a jockey as guest speaker to the embroidered souvenir jackets to the experienced Good Sam Tour Directors, this Samboree is a thoroughbred in its own right.
