Q. How do I change my communications preferences?
A. To edit your email communications preferences, click on My Stuff and select Membership Details. Then select Edit in Current Subscriptions. Select or de-select what newsletters or mailings about products or services you want sent via email.

A. You can log in from any computer. Just use the email address and password that are currently used as part of your Good Sam membership.

Q. Why do Members and Invited Guests have to register and/or sign in?
A. You don't have to sign in to visit many sections of the site. However, members wanting complete access and invited guests seeking greater access to the site, will need to sign in and create a profile. Once a profile has been completed, a member or invited guest need only log-in for greater site access.

Q. What is the difference between the three access levels of the site?
A. Good Sam members who are registered and signed-in on the site have complete access to all sections of the site. This includes access to extensive travel-related services, including the locations of all Good Sam parks and campgrounds. Members can create a profile, post stories, photos, recipes, and tech tips, and send emails to friends in the community. They can also start and join groups, read back issues of Highways, enter the monthly Giveaway, make friends in the community, and invite guests to register at the site for a 90-day trial visit. Invited Guests can register for a 90-day access pass to the site. Invited Guests can create a profile, join groups, and make new friends on the site. Visitors can view many areas of the site, including the current month's issue of Highways magazine, featured articles, and trip routing features.

Q. Where do I create a Profile?
A. There are two ways Members can Create a Profile. Click on Get Started Today on the RV Community home page. Members must sign in with their email address and password. After successfully signing in, you will be taken to My Stuff where you can Create a Profile.

Q. How can I find groups that share my interests?
A. Use the Search box found on the Members & Groups page in RV Community. You can search based on Interest & Activity or RV Type. Once you find a Group you'd like to join, click on the Join This Group button. Some groups are open to Good Sam members only, some are open to invited guests and members, and others are private. If you would like to join a private group, send a message to the founder of the group. Members can also start their own group if you don't find one that matches your interests or RV type.

Q. What if I want to leave a group?
A. Select the group you belong to. Click on the Leave Group link. You are no longer a member of this group.

Q. How do I start a group?
A. To start a Group, select Members & Groups from the red tool bar in RV Community. Above the Find a Group box, click on Create a Group Now! As the Group founder, you will need to enter a Group Name, select the Interest/Activity category from the drop-down menu and/or RV Type, select either public or Good Sam Members for the privacy setting, and Group Location, if applicable. You can also upload a photo that represents your group, and add a Group Tagline and Description. To finalize the process, click on the Create a Group button.

Q. What is New to the Community?
A. The Display Names and photos you see are the most recent Good Sam members and Invited Guests who have joined our online community. Users have the option of using a photo or a default image.

Q. How do I contact other Members?
A. You can search for members or make friends with members of the Good Sam Club community. In RV Community, select Members & Groups from the tool bar. In the Find a Member box, search for members using their display name, email address, interests, or first and last name. Once you find a friend you’d like to communicate with, click on Send a Message, Make a Friend or Invite to Group for instant contact.

Q. How do I file a complaint through Action Line?
A. If you have a dispute about an RV-related issue, you can count on the Good Sam Action Line to resolve it.

Q. How do I keep the map from appearing?
A. Just above the top left corner of the map you will see a - or + HIDE MAP. Click on the - or + to hide or display the map. NOTE: As you add additional information to your search or route you will see those results appear on your map. Therefore you may not want to automatically hide the map. This is also why the map will reappear (if you selected hide) when you go from tab to tab.

Q. How do I route a trip?
A.
1 – Enter your Start and End destinations. Selecting a state or province from the State/Prov drop down box is the only required field. The address and city fields are optional.
2 – Select the [Car/Small RV] OR [Large RV/Class A] option under Vehicle Type. The Large RV/Class RV option will route you on RV-friendly roads. This includes avoiding bridges and tunnels that will not accommodate a large RV.
3 – Click the [Route] Button to view your itinerary.
4 – Your Trip Map. A map with Good Sam Park locations and other campgrounds will appear directly above your route itinerary. Located under this map is a list of additional options. You can check and uncheck as many of these as you want. Once selected, click [UPDATE ROUTE] on the bottom of the page and the map will update with your new selections.
5 – Your Route Itinerary. Your route itinerary will include turn by turn directions from your origination to your final destination. Cumulative miles will display to the right of your itinerary. Total driving distance and approximate total travel time will display at the bottom on your route itinerary. This total will update if you add or delete stops to your route.
6 - How to Add a SamPark or other location from the map to your trip itinerary. Simply click on the icons in the map to find the location(s) you want to add to your route. Once located, click on the add to route link in the location description and click the [UPDATE ROUTE] button on the bottom of the page.
7 - Changing the order of your stops is as easy as "Click & Drag"! Once the stops are listed in the order you want to travel, click [UPDATE ROUTE]
8 – Get Fuel Prices. Enter the zip code for the area in which you are traveling and get pricing from all fuel providers in that area. Fuel Price Savings box is located to the left of your trip itinerary.
9 – Get Local Weather Updates. Enter the zip code for the area in which you are traveling and get local weather updates so you can plan accordingly. The weather box is located to the left of your trip itinerary.

Q. What makes the Route RV Friendly?
A. Trailer Life Directory has partnered with Maptuit to combine truck routing software and all of the great RV information found in the Directory. This makes our trip routing truly RV specific. As the needs of large trucks and larger RVs are similar, we believe our routes are now "RV Friendly".

Q. I'd like to route my trip, but I don't know the address of the campground. What should I do?
A. Routing a trip to a particular campground can be accomplished via the campground details page in the Find a Campground section of the Trailer Life Directory Website. Simply find the campground where you would like to stay, click on the link that says Driving Directions, and follow the instructions that appear on the page.

Q. What are the mile markers used for?
A. Our mile markers are based on a default of 200 miles as a stopping point. It is used as a reference point.

Q. Why should I use your trip routing tool?
A. Trailer Life Directory has partnered with Maptuit to combine truck routing software and all of the great RV information found in the Directory. This makes our trip routing truly RV specific. As you route your trip you can select campgrounds, attractions, service centers, rest stops (the list goes on and on) to be included on your maps. Plus built into trip routing we have provided related travel information, local businesses in the area, weather and helpful travel tips and comments directly from other RVers. It doesn't get much better than this. Try it out.

Q. How do I save a Route to My Travel Planner?
A. In order to save a Route, you must be a registered user of TrailerLifeDirectory.com. Once you've registered, saving a Route is as easy as clicking your mouse on the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the Trip Route results page. Once saved, the Route will display in your Travel Planner.

Q. Should I use the driving directions that are displayed on this page or the trip route option?
A. It is entirely your choice. The driving directions at the top of the campground details are the same directions listed in the printed directory. These directions begin from the nearest highway exit or major intersection. You may locate the facility by following the compass directions and mileage. The Trip Routing available on Trailer Life Directory will give you turn by turn directions from a start and end point. You can add your current campground as well as other RV Parks, Tourist Attractions and Services along the way to your Trip Route.

A. Try to save the stop again. If you continue to have a problem, please go to Contact Us. Select "Website Errors or Bugs". Explain your error and the webmaster will look into the problem.
